Sorry for late...

my exersice 3...

These is what exercise 3 need to learn about:

I apply the 20 dollars money in to the "Saving" word and change the color...
It's a new technique for me... never thought that so easy to do...
It's very great to know it...
I have apply the effects of the word and also the background...
and you can see there have the lighting behind...

Exercise 2: Color Changing

These is the video step of my lesson 2 color changing. Teach us 3 technique about how to change the color of the image:
Distructive & nondistructive methods of applying grayscale to an RGB image
Colorize a selection with a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer Paint fingernails using the Color blend mode

Perform a standard grayscale conversion process for comparison Make grayscale image, use Hue/Saturation to edit individual color channels
Colorize an image with a Hue/ Saturation adjustment layer to look like a sepia tone
Draw a path with Pen Tool to make a selection, create new channel from selection
Feather the alpha channel selections with the Gaussian blur filter
Combine the alpha channels to fine tune the selection, colorize the selection

There are the picture provided for us to change the color...it's the original file...a beautiful picture..

And see how I change the color...

The background I change it to black and white... the car I change it to purple color... and the light I change it to orange color... Is it look nice??

The Girl is the most difficult part to change colors...the pants I change to green color and the T-shirt I never change the color for it... Later I will try to change it and show you... but you can see the pocket got the yellow "V" and the "70's" logo is it? cool right? The bag got some color changes also... and the hair of the girl which is the most difficult part! Can see that changes??

My Second Trimestert!!

Hello~

I'm back~
such a long time didn't update my blog...

Now is already the second weekend of my second trimester...
We won't see any Adobe Illustrator again...
No more Adobe Illustrator...
This trimester is using Adobe Photoshop...
But all just only the basic technique we will learn about...
I will upload some exercise which I done every week...

Last week is just learn how to apply the effect of the image which the lecturer given...

and that's all focus of using the blur effect...

We have to watch the video which is on the internet(http://www.courseonline2u.com/) and learn how to apply the effect and finish the exercise...
But we cannot follow exactly the same with the video taught...
We have to use our own way to finish the exercise..
and that can get a higher mark...

How I did the poster???

Teach you step by step

Start from my sketch...open my sketcher in one layer and rename it as 'sketcher'

Step 1: Draw the main character by using the pen tool and rename all the layer

It is a very important part of this poster... I draw it layer by layer... and rename it carefully...

How important??

If you draw all things in one layer, you will get hardly to color or hardly to change the shape...

So better do it in diffirent layer and rename it...(example: head, hair, eyes, body,e.g. all in diffirent layer)

And make sure all of them under one main layer... that will make you easy to hide them and show them...

The most difficult part is the hands that I circle...

draw the object bu using the pen tool and use the direct selection tool to adjust

rename all the layer and arrange it(which one is the front and which one is the back)

Step 2: Color it

Yeah... After finish all the shape of the water fairies, we can start to choose the suitable color for them...
We have to select the water fairies...

Then I choose the effect from the graphic style palette to fill the color for the water fairies...

I choose the RGB Cartographic_ocean basic to fill the color of the water fairies...

I have to invisible the line of the water fairies... because the line will make the water look so weired...

You can see the color of the water fairies is a bit diffirent between the image up there and down here... It is because I have already change the color of it by using the gradient tool(radial)...

Next, it is the time to resize the object and adjust it to the right position...

Step 3: Do the background

The main object is finish... We can start to do the Background of the poster NOW...

I do the effect to let the water fairies like shinning... I choose the effect from the graphic style palette... It is raised edge... and I use the gradient tool(radial) to drag the light to the position behind the water fairies...

Next, I draw the water wave by using pen tool... that will make the water fairies look like they are come forth from the water...

And I color it with the gradient tool(radial)...

And then I add some effect for the water fairies to make it more shine and more clear...

If the background just like that is very boring...

So, I draw a curve line by using pen tool...and color it with the live paint bucket...

Then I hide the water fairies first and draw a pouring cup with the water for the background... of course by using the pen tool... and adjust all the point with the direct selection tool... and I choose the outline color for it to match the background color...

Next, I draw clouds and the rain drop by using pen tool and change the color of the outline(same with the pouring cup)....and I change the brush of the clouds to make it look more interesting...

And show the water fairies again to see the over all view... it is perfect for you or not...if not, you can adjust the position before you put the slogan...if yes, then you can turn to next step...

Step 4: Type the slogan and some description

Type the slogan(a drop of water, a gift of life)... I change the text character to Hobo std medium and then choose some effect of it...

I choose the warp_bluge effect to match the slogan... let it look like the water and also attrack other people to read it... and I put the stylize_outer glow effect for the text also...

use the type tool to type the slogan and use the warp effect to warp the text

Typr the description of the water fairies(the water fairies need your help now, please concern)...

Then I put the symbol on buttom right corner of the poster...and add the light behind the symbol by using the flare tool... I delete the circle of light by using the direct selection tool and the delete anchor point tool...

put the symbol in it and add the light behind by using flare tool

Then I add the blog url under the symbol...I change the text character and the color of the text...

That's all... Show out all the layer and save it...

Print out and paste it on the A2 mounting board... and type some brief behind the mounting board and also the name, ID and statement.

Statement:

A Drop of water, a Gift of Life
the water fairies need your help now, please concern

Description:

This poster is about the water pollution which is one of the effects of the global warming. Water is very important things for us, we need to protect it. The message I would like to bring out is “A drop of water, a gift of life”. It shows that the water is very precious for all of us. We cannot life without water. Nowadays, the pollution level of the water pollution has been alarming, so we need to protect our water.

The water fairies look sad because the water has been pollution. They are in trouble. They take out their heart to show that they really need people help.

The back ground I choose the purple color because it is mean awareness, mourning and gloom. It will bring out the feeling of the statement. The cloud and the rain drops it shows the global warming decrease the quantity of the water. The background image shows the water pour out from the cup mean the water resource.

The text I put in the top of the poster is because I want it be clear for everyone. When people look at it, they will be attracted to read it. I put a little bit description under the water fairies. It will be easily to get the message from the poster.

Then I sketch out the outline first.

So, this is my sketcher.

The slogan of this assignment is 'SHOW YOUR LOVE TO SAVE THE WATER!'.

The people up there are take out the heart and show their love for water. You can see their heart with the dripping water...

I will use the assignment 2(the illustration) for the background... How I add it in this poster? I keep as a secret first... hehe...

The idea of this poster still not clear... I am very sorry about it... (._.)>

How am I create the illustration??

Firstly,

drag the guidelines

I go to view show the grid, rulers and the smart guides. Then I drag guidelines for each edge from the rulers in one layer.

rename the layer

After I dray the guideline, I rename the layer as a Guide.

You can enlarge the image up there which I circled and see the layer clearly.

lock the layer

Then I lock the layer. I always lock the layer when I done one shape or one small part of the work. Rename and lock the layer... these both steps is very important... that can make you more easy and faster to do your work... So I won't forget to do this both step...

Getting start!!!

draw a curve using pen tool

I choose to draw the sea(water) first. Of course I used the pen tool(a basic tool for the user to create whatever the shape you like). But it is take a long time to draw because I am not so talented in using this tool. But I like to use this tool because it is the easiest way to draw what I want in using mouse. (If I got a tablet I think I won't use this tool in everytime...hehe~ But it's still a nice tool to everyone...)

COLOR!!!

Yeah... The most fun part... first, I have to choose the color for the sea(of course is blue) I decided to use the gradient color... because it will make the image look more interesting... yeah,right... I like to use gradient to color... Oops... I forgot something to tell... It is the outline... I make it invisible... I dont like the outline(for background)...

Next, I used the gradient tool to drag the color... of course I the gradient should be radial... you can see the effect... It is a circle when I drag it in the shape of the sea... then... finished~!!

Wat's the NEXT???!!!

yeah... It is Mountains~

draw the mountains shapes by using the pen tool

First, I use the pen tool to draw the mountains shapes... After finished, I group it(control+G)...

Then Color...!!!

Used the gradient to color the mountains...and the gradient tool to drag the color... (have to know where the light come from...)

HOW To Do It???!!!

Let me explain... But I tell you one more time... I am not talented to use all the tool and the effect... and I just tell you how am I do in my own way... if you got a better way to do the reflection...pls...tell me...thanks...

So..., the first step: copy the image of the mountains and create a layer(rename it as the reflection) and paste the image in it...(the layer must on top of the sea then you can adjust the reflection on top on it)

do the transform and adjust the point with the direct selection tool

Next!! Right click the new mountains...select the transform and choose the reflect... then change the angle to 180 degree...
It's a very difficult part... because I spend with the longest time to done it... I have to adjust all the point with the direct selection tool... the point must match to the mountains up there...

After that, so some effect on it!!!

Go to the effect and select the stylize and choose the inner glow... then the mode I choose screen(white color)... adjust the opacity and the blur... like the picture I showed down there...

Is the Background~

do the background of the illustration(blue sky) by using the gradient(linear)

I use the rectangle tool to do the background add the gradient on it...

use the pen tool to draw the cloud and change the brush(chalk scribble)

If the background just like that...hmmm... everyone must be think it is so BORING!!! So, I draw the cloud on it...

draw the sun by using the ellipse tool and color it with the gradient(radial)

Final Symbol in Adobe Illustrator

I gonna show all the steps how I draw my symbol in Adobe Illutrator and what tools used...

Step 1: Open the sketcher symbol to be the reference.

Choose the file from the computer.(That's a JPG. file)
Step2: Use the Selection tool to enlarge the size of the picture utill it's fit on the screen.

Of course, leave a bit space on the side of the drawing. That will make the drawing look nicely.
Step3: Lock the layer. That can help you will not draw something on top on that layer when you draw the symbol.

Most important thing is to rename the layer when you finished one step.
Step4: Create another layer and start to draw the symbol!!

Step5: Before we draw the symbol we can show the ruler and smart guide to make it more easy to draw. We have to use the pen tool to draw out all the shape of the symbol. So we must choose the pen tool to start to draw the symbol in the new layer.
Step6: Start to draw the water drop by the pen tool.

Step8: Use the Direct Selection tool to adjust the shape to be perfect.
Adjust it...
The water drop become the perfect shape!!
Of course, after it we have to rename the layer. Before we start to draw another shape we can also hide the shape which you drawn before it.

Create another layer again... and start to draw another shape...
The new shape has been done!!
Draw the new shape same as before.
Another shape also...

Draw the heart shape in other side. Let it become perfect.
Drag it to the right position. And then become like this...
Step9: Colour the shape we done!! Use the selection tool to select the shape that you want to colour and click the Ctrl+G keys to group the shape.

Use the Live Paint Bucket to fill the colour inside the water drop.

Use the Gardient to colour the water drop, have the lighting with it...
Use the Gardient tool. (where the lighting came from)
Use the low Opacity, about 55%. Let the Virus look like inside the water drop...
Another virus also use the same Opacity.. The wing....

The death's head...

The sword....
Use the pen tool plus some shape of shadow on the wing..let it become more interesting.. Final symbol was done!!!

It's look nice??

But I really like the sketcher...(^~^")hmmm.....

But it's ok la...

I've already spend a lot of time on it...

and try my best to do it...

I really enjoy to create this symbol...

I learned how to solve so many problem when I draw it..

The Meaning of the Colour

The water drop I use the BLUE colour because it is represent the water source like water, sea, river, etc.

The virus I choose RED colour is because I want it to be a very clear to everyone know the water drop has been polluted.

The wing and the death's head I use BLACK and GREY colour, that represent the serious, fear, evil, repelling negativity, unhappiness and deadth.

The hearth shape I use VARIETY of COLOURS, that's represent all the people have to protect the water source.

My Final symbol in sketcher

This symbol I created is all about the

Water Pollution...

I choose this topic is just because when I searched the information about the global warming, this topic is very attracted me... I read so many articles, but just only this topic I read it then I felt something is coming out with my mind... got some image... some crazy thinking... and that time I know that I really have to write something about it...

I just draw what is the first image that's coming out with my mind...
It's actually start from simple water drop...
Then I add the others one by one...
That's very interesting...
All the shape I done, it's really no so much powerful in it...
But when I draw it out, I can really know why I draw this things...
Then the meaning give it the power that can relate all the things together...
and it's really cool!!

Now, I want to explain what is the meaning of all the shape of the symbol...
First, the most important shape : WATER DROP shape !
It is represent the water sources.
There is VIRUS inside the water drop, it is stand for the water sources is polluted.
Second is The WING.. There is only one wing represent the helpless, one wing cannot fly..
And the DEATH'S HEAD mean death of the nature because no healthy water sources anymore..
Next one is THE CROSS and I synthesize it with THE SWORD. The cross actually in is the Romans use for punish the prisoner so that is stand for the chastisement. The sword is represent the harmfulness of the polluted water sources...

And the LAST ONE!! hehe... Of course is The RING around the water drop~! I'll draw it in the heart shape.. That's represent human around the world have to protect the water sources with LOVE! It's not just know what is it happenging now then left the problem become more and more serious... and the heart shape will linked to another heart shape then become a ring around it...
That's mean the hearts of everyone are linked to each other to solve this problem..

The Background represent the seriousness of the pollution issue. It's indicate the awareness to everyone of the importance of protecting the water resources from pollution.

Are you hardly to wait for the symbol done in Adobe Illutrator??

Part 4: The type toolThe type tool is pretty easy to use, and if you are using Illustrator for web design, which I recommend using over using Photoshop. Part 6: The rectangle tool. The rectangle tool is another one of the easiest tools in illustrator that you'll learn. The other options that are next to the rectangle tool is the rounded rectangle tool, the ellipse tool, the polygon tool, the star tool, and the solar flare tool. Since im trying to to teach the tools youll be using the most i left out the polygon, star tool, and solar flare tool since I never really use them.

Now if you're thinking about using Illustrator for your web designs, which I would encourage, you should should definitely become familiar with the rectangle tool.

Adobe Illustrator tutorial - The Gradient tool

Part 7: The gradient tool. So as you may have learned by now, Adobe Illustrator is a vector based drawing program so you're somewhat limited to solid colors. That is unless you are using the gradient tool! Gradients provide smooth transitions of color and I think they add much needed dimension and softness to flat vector drawings.

It's the closest your going to get to airbrush-like shading. The only downside is that you're limited to linear and radial transitions, that is unless you are using the gradient mesh tool (Not important for a beginner but can be utilized more once you become familiar with all the tools.)

Part 8: The zoom tool The zoom tool is a really important tool in illustrator. Since Illustrator is vector it can become very precise and sometimes the normal 100% view just wont cut it. Global warming is the increase in the average measured temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans since the mid-twentieth century, and its projected continuation.

The average global air temperature near the Earth's surface increased 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the hundred years ending in 2005. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-twentieth century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic (man-made) greenhouse gas concentrations"via an enhanced greenhouse effect. Natural phenomena such as solar variation combined with volcanoes probably had a small warming effect from pre-industrial times to 1950 and a small cooling effect from 1950 onward.

These basic conclusions have been endorsed by at least thirty scientific societies and academies of science,including all of the national academies of science of the major industrialized countries. While individual scientists have voiced disagreement with some findings of the IPCC,the overwhelming majority of scientists working on climate change agree with the IPCC's main conclusions.

Climate model projections summarized by the IPCC indicate that average global surface temperature will likely rise a further 1.1 to 6.4 °C (2.0 to 11.5 °F) during the twenty-first century. This range of values results from the use of differing scenarios of future greenhouse gas emissions as well as models with differing climate sensitivity. Although most studies focus on the period up to 2100, warming and sea level rise are expected to continue for more than a thousand years even if greenhouse gas levels are stabilized. The delay in reaching equilibrium is a result of the large heat capacity of the oceans.

Increasing global temperature is expected to cause sea level to rise, an increase in the intensity of extreme weather events, and significant changes to the amount and pattern of precipitation. Other expected effects of global warming include changes in agricultural yields, modifications of trade routes, glacier retreat, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors.

Remaining scientific uncertainties include the amount of warming expected in the future, and how warming and related changes will vary from region to region around the globe. Most national governments have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but there is ongoing political and public debate worldwide regarding what, if any, action should be taken to reduce or reverse future warming or to adapt to its expected consequences.

Causes

The Earth's climate changes in response to external forcing, including variations in its orbit around the Sun (orbital forcing),changes in solar luminosity, volcanic eruptions, and atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations. The detailed causes of the recent warming remain an active field of research, but the scientific consensus is that the increase in atmospheric greenhouse gases due to human activity caused most of the warming observed since the start of the industrial era. This attribution is clearest for the most recent 50 years, for which the most detailed data are available. Some other hypotheses departing from the consensus view have been suggested to explain most of the temperature increase. One such hypothesis proposes that warming may be the result of variations in solar activity.
None of the effects of forcing are instantaneous. The thermal inertia of the Earth's oceans and slow responses of other indirect effects mean that the Earth's current climate is not in equilibrium with the forcing imposed. Climate commitment studies indicate that even if greenhouse gases were stabilized at 2000 levels, a further warming of about 0.5 °C (0.9 °F) would still occur.
